How motivated are you today?
Are you up and firing on all cylinders, or is your energy a little bit lower than where you would ideally like it to be?
I want to share with you today how I help accountancy firm owners raise their energy levels instantly, a simple technique that you can use starting from today to help you start implementing and making more progress in your business.
This is a concept I’ve learned from one of my mentors, Dan Sullivan. He talks about minding the gap.
If you’re a motivated business owner and you strive for a better business, you have a vision of the future. You have a vision for what you want your business to look like. You have a vision for what you want your life to look like. You have a vision of the impact your business can have for your customers. You have a vision as to who your customers are. You have a vision as to what your team looks like. You’ve got this vision and you’re striving, striving, striving, striving.
Striving can be tiring.
Always reaching and never touching, always moving forward and never arriving.
That’s the gap.
That’s the entrepreneurial business owners experience. Sometimes that gap can be demoralizing.
Well, here’s how we can shift the paradigm.
Don’t live in the gap. You need to live in the gain and measure the wins. Strive forwards but measure backwards.
Measure backwards – what have you achieved? What have you achieved today? What are your wins? What have you achieved this week?
They are your wins. What have you achieved this month that are your wins?
What have you achieved in the last three years? What have you achieved in the last five years? What are all the wins that have brought you to the point where you are right now?
Right here today. Celebrate those wins. Celebrate your wins every day. Write them down. Maybe do what we do here in the office.
Have a win wall where your wins go up for everyone to see.
Far too often I work with accountants, I work with business owners, where they’re not celebrating their wins.
The wins give us the momentum to strive for the future.
What are your wins?
Write down some wins right now. Pull out a pen and paper and write down some wins right now. What are the wins that you have? They may be small, they may be big but do it every day.
Celebrate the wins every day.
