Change

Today I want to talk to you about change.

If you want to build a better business, what we’re talking about is change

It’s about you changing how you operate in your business.

It’s about you changing the culture of your business.

Changing how your business interacts with customers, changing your systems, your processes, changing from what you have done in the past to achieve something better in the future.

Progress and business are actually about change.

Change is hard.

One of the reasons why change is hard is because you don’t get instant results and there is no magic pill that you can take that will create instant results.

There is no pill that you can take that will give unlimited life or instant weight loss. There is no magic. There are no silver bullets here.

Change is challenging.

Now here’s the thing, let’s say you out of shape today and you decide that you’re going to run a marathon. You go out and you do a 20-minute run, if you do a 20-minute room, you’re not suddenly in shape.

You’re going to do that 20-minute room, maybe start off doing them two or three times a week and then go to five times a week and then the 20-minute run becomes a 30 minutes run.

And then you’re doing 10 K’s, and then you’re doing half marathons, and then you do a marathon and now, suddenly overnight, you’re in shape.

It’s the same in reverse. If you are out of shape and you eat a pizza tonight, the results and the impact of that pizza is not going to show tomorrow, it’s not going to be be visible on the scales tomorrow.

It’s eating the pizza over a prolonged period of time creates the result.

You see, What are we talking about here?

We’re talking about linear growth on what happens in the real world.

Look at the image below here:

Linear growth looks something like this and human nature is that wee would love to see linear growth where by, we take a step, we see the progress.

But it’s just not that simple because really, what our growth often looks like.

It’s something more like this:

But what happens in here?

You see in here between what we expect should happen on what we want to happen on what’s actually happening.

There’s discontentment. There’s a gap.

If you want to make change the secret a long term, sustainable change, it’s not glamorous, it’s not sexy, it’s not what you want to hear, but it’s the reality.

It’s about small incremental 1% changes.

It’s about creating the habits, the little 1% everyday habits that when we invest in that 1% every day at a point in time, the change becomes exponential.

If you want to make progress, if you want to make change, what’s the 1% that you should be focusing on doing today?

That over a period of time is going to get you the result that you want and the progress that you want?
